FRIENDS Certification Registration

The FRIENDS certification program is an opportunity for members of the University of Florida community to expand their knowledge and understanding surrounding LGBTQ issues and to develop skills for confronting prejudice and acting as an ally. FRIENDS workshops are not intended as an introductory training on LGBTQ terminology and issues (If you are interested in introductory training, please contact LGBT Affairs). Instead, the Friends Certification will offer participants the opportunity to critically engage with LGBTQ issues as they effect the lives of students, faculty and staff on campus. Participants will explore the application of LGBTQ development theory to real life situations and increase their comfort level and skill in working as allies to LGBTQ individuals on campus.

All participants who complete the certification will receive a new Friends placard and button and a Friends certificate. To register, please complete the following:

November 17 Gender Identity and Expression Workshop noon-1:30 at the Institute of Hispanic Latino Cultures (La Casita)
November 17 Gender Identity and Expression Workshop 7:30-9:00 PM at Ustler 108 (tentative)
