Exhale
exhale, Multicultural poetry night, is the result of a collaborative effort between Multicultural and Diversity Affairs, the Institute of Black Culture (IBC), the Institute of Hispanic and Latino Cultures (La Casita), Asian and Pacific American Affairs (APAA), Kaleidoscope month and Gator Nights.
exhale is a freestyle/open mic poetry night event and its main goal is to get people excited about poetry in all its various forms. Our guest performer will be Kelly Tsai, a Brooklyn-based, Chinese Taiwanese American spoken word artist who has featured at over 275 performances worldwide including three seasons of HBO's award-winning "Russell Simmons' Def Poetry.
The event will be held at the Orange and Brew, Friday November 14th at 9:00 pm. Doors open at 8:30pm. Anyone who would like to perform is welcome to sign up to do so at the event.
We also invite and encourage students to attend the free poetry workshop hosted by Kelly Tsai. The workshop is scheduled to last for 90 minutes and begins at 4pm in the Reitz Union Room B60.
